A few months ago we started working on a new project with Friedrich PICARD GmbH & Co. KG from Bochum! Our client is an international company, which supplies rolling bearing and linear technology wholesale trade companies worldwide. 

The company uses an application that manages the entire bearing warehouse and all the processes that occur there. The whole process requires a very complex application that, for example, maps out the routes that the warehouse employees should take to collect the necessary bearings into a package in the shortest possible time. 

Our task is to rewrite an older application to a new version and upgrade it. Together with the customer, we work not only on rewriting it, but also on redefining it and developing even more optimal processes. 

Technologies that were chosen for the project are Java and Angular and there’s also an Android application which is an integral part of it as well. 

Even before the pandemic, we were able to visit the client on-site to develop a plan to rewrite the application. There are currently 3 developers, 1 Android developer and 1 DevOps working on the project. 

The hardest part is developing a new mobile app to scan bearing codes, but since the customer is very happy with us, it gives us extra motivation to move forward. We also help them with DevOps by configuring the server environment, so long may that continue!
