Application Development and Technological Migration
Client
EWERK Group provides comprehensive IT services in consulting, software development, business process outsourcing, and critical infrastructure support for European public sector institutions. The company’s mission is to ensure clients‘ digital success by delivering secure products that meet their needs.
Challenge
The client needed a robust and scalable software team that spoke German and could adapt to the technology stack. Specifically, an end-client in the environmental industry needed support in application development and data migration.
Solution
VM.PL’s team of experienced developers handled the technology migration from Java 8 to Java 17. We also developed the functionality of the web application. Its purpose was to determine the subsidies or penalties for corporations based on their emissions of greenhouse gases.
The application has the following functionalities:
- A login screen directing to the accounts of certain enterprises
- A tabular view of the substances that a particular business produces
- Filtering and adding a specific type of fuel to the table and specifying points for the company that produces the fuel
- Creating a report after a Plausibility Check of the data
As part of regular iterations of software development, we delivered specific modules, always on time.
Once every two weeks, we regularly meet with the end customer to better understand their expectations and to exchange suggestions on the delivered functionalities.
The code testing process was well organized, with unit tests showing more than 90% code coverage in each part of the application. In addition, EWERK conducted manual testing of the application at the end customer’s site.
Main tasks of the development team:
- migration from Java 8 to Java 17,
- continuous development of the web application,
- automated testing.
Results
EWERK was clearly satisfied with the implementation of the project, as we managed to prove all functionalities 100% within the agreed deadline. The end customer, in turn, is satisfied with the quality of our team’s work and is now making full use of the application in its operations.
